Background
In the new Regional Development Plan for the Stockholm Region
(RUFS 2010) the importance of planning for
social sustainability is stressed, but a general lack of terminology,
knowledge and references are often experienced when social
and cultural values are discussed on a more concrete level.
As visual artists, we were commissioned to focus on social
perspectives in relation to regional development. The word
"dela" in Swedish carries a double meaning, it means
both "share" and "divide". Thus we thought
that "Att dela ett samhälle" [Sharing/Dividing
a Society] was an appropriate theme for our work.
Since 2007 a series of works have been produced more or less
collaboratively with the artists Anna Högerg, Johan Tiren
and Johan Waerndt and in cooperation with the Office of Regional
Planning.
In 2008 it resulted in the project ”A
Radical Shift of Scenery” >>
In 2009 in the exhibition "Att
dela ett samhälle" [Sharing/Dividing a Society]
>>
And in 2010 a
book was released >>
The black folder
A black folder was produced and distributed together with
the actual plan during the autumn 2009. The folder contains
three art projects:
”To
Mushroom” [Som svampar ur jorden] by Janna Holmstedt
and Anna Högberg.
”Epilogues” by Johan Tirén (external
